Sport | Cup semi-finals to provide top BUCs action

While BUCs seasons began to draw to a close last week, there is still plenty of sport to enjoy on campus this week.

In an all-Northern 1A clash, the women’s lacrosse team face the side with whom they drew on points at the top of the league.

However, Durham took the title on goal difference, and this Cup fixture will surely be a chance for redemption, as well as a chance to progress to the final.

Lining up at the Gryphon, the men’s volleyball team have enjoyed a solid season in the Northern 2B.

They will have the chance on Wednesday to secure third spot, should they repeat the result of their away fixture against York.

Facing a tough tie this week, and lying in 5th position, the men’s hockey 2s may look to be having a torrid season, at first glance.

However, spirits will remain high among the group. Holding two games in hand in the league, a victory over league-rivals Sheffield Hallam in the Cup would give them the confidence to turn the table on its head in the coming weeks.

Finally, the women’s badminton team will have the chance to top off a season in which they have firmly survived in the top division, by finding their way to a Cup final on Wednesday.

Facing divisional rivals Birmingham, Leeds will be looking to end their season on a high.
