Leeds Marrow have cycled for a
whopping 24 hours as part of their ‘Miles4Marrow’ campaign.
The 20 volunteers raised £332.46 in total for the Anthony Nolan charity, which performs lifesaving work running the stem cell donor register to find donors for
people suffering from blood cancers, such as leukaemia.
The ‘Miles4Marrow’ campaign also
includes a Three Peaks team and a Leeds Half Marathon team.
One of the student volunteers, Charlie Chesman told LS: “It was tough going at times, particularly watching wistfully as everyone was heading into Fruity and outside in the cold at 4am, but the support of the students throughout the 24 hours and knowing everything raised goes towards the fantastic work Anthony Nolan do made it all worthwhile!”
Alex Olney, Leeds Marrow’s Vice President, told LS: “We hope to sign up our 2000th person of the year at our next event – a major milestone!”
