The Leeds RAG Fashion Show celebrated its 10th anniversary in spectacular style last night.
The Refectory was transformed into a variety of elaborate themed set designs, including ‘Bohemian Rose’ fields, ‘Burnt Earth’ volcanic rock, ‘Amazonian Wild’ rainforest and ‘Minecraft’ hidden tunnels.
Holly Richards, the head designer of the show told LS: “Full of rich colour, gems and diamonds, mine craft steals the show!”
The annual event, this year called ‘Wanderlust’, boasted a new stage layout as well as music mixed by Flux and collaborations with ASOS and American Apparel featured in the runway show.
The Fashion Show is usually a major fundraiser for the society, with profits last year exceeding £15,000. A similar figure is expected this year with proceeds going to SARSVL (Support After Rape & Sexual Violence Leeds) and SUDEP Action (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), a charity chosen in memory of a former student of the University.
A third year student told LS: “I love going to the fashion show every year and this one was just amazing!”
