News | Rebranded buses offer cheaper fairs

The Yorkshire Tiger bus company has unveiled reduced fares for students.

The company were on campus last week to promote the increased services and the lower fares of the 92, 93 and 94 bus routes, passing University accommodation and both Uni and Met campuses.

The cheapest fare available being offered by the new company is 80p, covering a journey from Clarence Dock to the Parkinson Steps. £2 day tickets are also available which, just under half the price offered by rival company First’s ticket equivalent which is £3.90.

The buses themselves have also undergone a radical transformation, recognisable from their bold orange colour and painted black tiger stripes.

A Third Year, Broadcast Journalism student told LS of his experience on a Tiger bus: “The bus driver was really friendly and sang for the whole journey!”
