Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, £495 at Harrods

It’s officially December – the only month of the year that it’s acceptable to wear head-to-toe sequins and stuff your bellies with endless numbers of mince pies. There’s only those impending deadlines and a final few lectures standing in the way of us fully getting into the festive party spirit and getting extravagant with the Christmas wardrobe. Save your parents some time buying horrific Christmas presents which will surely end up in the back of your chest of drawers or the nearest charity shop, and combine your own list of lust pieces you can’t live without.

At the top of our lists are these sparkly Charlotte Olympia flat shoes, providing your routine wardrobe with a hint of intricacy and glitter. Team with your favourite skinnies or cigarette pants and a cashmere polo for an outfit worthy for any Turkey-related dinner or throw on a party dress to impress at your Christmas party. These cute flats only have a small heel too, meaning they’re great for throwing shapes on the dancefloor until the early hours of the morning, as well as the chilling march up to the library. A quirky alternative to heels, Olympia has also designed similar flats but in a variety of colours, so if black sparkle isn’t your cup of tea, opt for a rich burgundy or zesty orange. The £495 price tag is a tad over budget for us at this time of year, but I’m sure if you put them on your Christmas list, Santa will pull a few strings. Purr-fection.
