News | Bike burglar gives up half way

If only the outcome of all burglaries was the same as the half-hearted one committed in Hyde Park last week.

Fourth year English Literature student, Alex Roadnight’s bike was stolen from a locked garden shed on Burley Road, late last Sunday evening.

The burglar broke into the shed and cut the frame that the bike was locked onto. However, the thief gave up halfway down the road from Roadnight’s house and dumped the bike, stealing only the front and rear lights.

Roadnight found the bike the next morning, not far from his house. He told LS that it has prevented him from cycling at night time.

He added: “I’m still a bit annoyed about my lights, but at least I still have my bike!”
