Fashion | Micro Trend – The Daisy Print

Floral prints in lustrous jewel shades were a surprising trend this winter. Challenging everything we roll our eyes at in summer, this trend bucked our expectations by all accounts. Designers such as Valentino and Erdem showed us that this was far from a re-hashed amalgamation of summer leftovers. This was yet another way to embrace our sophisticated side. Abandon all assumptions and look to the high street for the new floral; it’s gritted its teeth and learned how to seduce. And the easiest way to access this is through a new take on the daisy print.

This done-to-death nostalgic print should evoke memories of daisy chains and school fields. But this time round it was darker, moodier and literally everywhere. Whether it’s a subtle decoration on this season’s nun-inspired dress, or an all over print on a 1960s coat, this is one sure fire way to hit this trend, and often another, on the head. Keep it simple and add a white shirt underneath or add dark accessories to keep it season appropriate and bear in mind: not suitable for children.
