The kilt, a fashion favourite for autumn/winter, is back and this time round it comes with an innovative twist. Still sporting the traditional buckles and pleats in most cases, this staple skirt has been chopped and neatened for a modern take.

Whether you’re feeling patriotic or nostalgic, this season boasted an array of options for everybody. A short Topshop version teamed with a peter pan collared blouse and a fluffy jumper is preppy perfect.
