The Edward Boyle Library has promised students permanent 24 hour access during exam time following a campaign by Leeds University Union.
The Union’s Education Officer, Alice Smart, worked on the policy with the library team over the summer.
“I’m immensely proud to have been a part of the campaign,” said Smart, “this will have a positive impact on so many students at Leeds and shows that the University are taking the fact that all students have different learning styles and study needs seriously.”
Jane Saunders, Head of Commercial Services at the library said the team were “keen to support students” and added: “We recognise that a good study environment is critical at examination time and are now pleased to be able to offer this 24/7 service during the January and May exam periods.”
The opening hours of the Health Sciences Library will also be extended during the summer exam period. As of next April, they will open their doors until midnight every day until the end of June.
