As our annual Student lock-in approaches this Monday coming, we can’t help but make a mental wish-list of all the autumn essentials we want to spend our loans on. With the weather being super-unpredictable as of late, we’re lusting after those multi-seasonal buys which will take us through the ice-cream summers and onto the snowy blizzards. We’ve compiled a list of must-haves to snatch up during the Student lock-in and with 20% off everything, you need a good excuse not to spend, spend, spend!
As un-exciting as it may be, you can’t go wrong with some black staple pieces to fill up your wardrobe. Black adds a sleek edge to your look and will forever be bang on trend. Combine the season’s it texture with our trusty black and voila! Topshop satisfies all our autumn needs with this quilted leather-look sweater.
Meet the cut-out boot. It’s still our rainy-day essential boot but with a gothic twist. The chunkier, the better this season, and add some buckles for extra style cred. Made with premium leather and a heel which you won’t break your neck in, these boots can be glammed up with skirts and grunged down with jeans and your boyfriend’s favourite jumper. Perfect for a spontaneous drink after an all-day library session.
Although pink seems to be the shade of the season, baby blues are also making their way into the autumn catwalks. Go big on texture this season and opt for a fury jacket – thick enough to keep you warm but still light enough to throw over a t-shirt. If blue is too bright for you, take a look at the teal colour too – tan has officially fallen off the radar.
Our fail-safe colour for rainy Britain will forever be burgundy. It’s been in and out of fashion since the beginning of the 20th century (take a look at your grandma’s wardrobe) but burgundy is now here to stay, and what better way to carry your hefty library books around, than with a stylish piece of arm candy? The high street is going into burgundy overload with everything from skirts to hats, but this gem has to be our favourite!
Finally the mini-skirt is truly out of fashion, because let’s face it, it did get a bit too cold on nights out in December. Say hello to the mini-skirt’s more elegant sister, the midi. Think Downton Abbey instead of X-factor and be thankful there’s now a trend that looks chic but still keeps our knees warm.
Get yourself and your student card down to Trinity Leeds this coming Monday the 30th September between 7.30-11pm and get shopping!
