I am completely in awe of the Yves Saint Laurent grunge show which stunned onlookers with its angry representation of rebellious youth and homage to Grunge, which we first saw hit the catwalks in the 90’s. Oversized checked shirts, sheer fabrics, leather, studs, leopard print coats and even floral tea dresses all paired with of course, the essential biker boot creating a general air of anarchy, seemed an appropriate response from the Fashion world to times of recession, corporate greed, mass unemployment and political unease.
I’ve managed to find a few high street pieces extremely similar for a fraction of the YSL price-tag.
Of course it’s a great trend because it requires little effort. Remember to keep hair un-brushed and makeup minimal, just a smudge of black khol and you’re good to go!
