A Leeds University student has been found dead.

The body of 24-year-old Mariam Khesroh was found behind a house in Harrogate on April 11.

Police are treating the final year dentistry student’s death as ‘unexplained’.

A 23-year-old man and a 47-year-old man were arrested in connection with the investigation and have been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

One of the men, 23-year old Joshua Dean Wilson, is thought to have seen Mariam shortly before she died.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Kell, who is investigating the case, said: “We are treating the woman’s death as unexplained at this time and it is vital that we piece together her final movements.”

A University spokesperson told Leeds Student: “It is with great sadness that the University has learnt of the death of one of our students. Our thoughts are with her family and we are offering advice and support to our staff and students at this difficult time.”
