Brian McDermott, the ex-Reading manager has been appointed Leeds United manager on three year deal.

McDermott appears to be the first choice at Elland Road, other manager’s linked to the job had been Roberto Di Matteo and Owen Coyle. His first game in charge will be against Sheffield Wednesday, tomorrow lunchtime (Saturday 13th, 12.30pm Kick Off).

The appoint follows on from ex-manager Neil Warnock’s departure after losing at home to Derby 2-1. Warnock has subsequently been linked to the vacancy at his former club Sheffield United.

McDermott was sacked by Reading after three years at the Madjeski stadium, having guided them into the Premier League. Having won February’s manager of month, Reading slipped into the relegation zone and look destined for an immediate return to the Championship.
