Leeds 3rds 48 vs 25 Sheffield 2nds

Going into our last match of the season, we were all so ready to put up a good battle against Sheffield Hallam. With a restricted warm up, we started the match a bit slow but were all playing well and ended the first quarter up 12-9. We all knew we had more to give and wanted to extend our lead and with some excellent tips off Sabea and Georgia in defence who kept the shooters out consistently and sharp feeds into the circle by Lucinda, our conversion rate was high and we went into the second half 22-16 up. With a strong team talk, we aimed to extend our lead even further and some fantastic shooting from Jess and Chavonne produced from great back up down court from Amy we managed to pull ahead 35-24 going into the final quarter. With 15 minutes left to play to end the season, we knew our lead was satisfactory but wanted to further extend the lead and push ourselves hard. Although the opposition were getting rowdy and were contacting heavily against the attack, we all managed to keep calm and not let it get the better of us especially with great feeds from Lauren Forsyth at WA. An amazing team effort down court and faultless defence meant that they only scored 1 goal in the last quarter and the final score was 48-25 to Leeds.
For our last match, it was by far our strongest performance of the season and we couldn’t have finished it in any better way! Fantastic effort from all
