Leeds 3rds vs Newcastle 3rds
Going into the match, we were all looking forward to a tough encounter with Newcastle knowing they were just above us in the league. Following a long journey up north, we started the match well with the first quarter remaining pretty equal with goals being scored end to end. In the second quarter, we knew although we were trailing, our heads remained focused and with some great rebounds off Sabea and accurate feeds into the circle from Emily Pasquale, we were still fighting to remain in the game. At half time, some changes were made with Issie coming on at WD, katie morris at GK and Lauren f coming on at C, we aimed to decrease newcastles lead with some fresh legs. However, although we still were playing well, a lot of unforced errors were made which meant our focus strayed off. This lead to Newcastle taking advantage of our mistakes and meant we were going into the final quarter 10 goals behind. After a strong talk from all players, we were determined to limit this gap and get back into the game. Some very consistent shooting from chavonne and jess along with some great conversions off Katie Morris and Issie meant that the gap was limited to 3. However, this surge ended up proving too late and the end score remained 39-45. Although we lost the game, we won the last quarter convincingly and could be argued it was some of the best netball we had played all season. We were all proud and went off court positively.

Leeds 6ths vs Bradford
For the final match of the season against Bradford we were raring for a final win! With talk of tonight’s big social distracting everyone, we took a long time to settle down in the first quarter and it ended 6-5 to us. With some great feeding from Ellie and some great shooting from Bex in the 2nd half, we began to make the gap bigger. I’m so proud of how we played in the last quarter, fighting for every ball and everyone working together so well. We totally out played Bradford in the last quarter.

Final score 23-16. MOTM: Ellie Alberts. Well played girls and well done for such a successful season as the new 6th team!!
