Allow us to introduce you to S. Jay, an up and coming house music producer from Leeds.  Although he may not have many songs to his name so far, the 24 year old producer has uploaded a small selection of tracks to his Soundcloud page over the past month or so, starting with the great ‘Puddin’, which immediately brought him to our attention.

Labelled by the man himself as ‘bass house’, the track is clearly part of the ever growing trend of UK producers experimenting with house rhythms and tempos, while adding a distinct UK flavour to it, which you can hear in the dark and elastic jacking bassline when the track drops.  Supplemented by those electro-inspired synth whines that jackin producers are so fond of at the minute, and it’s no surprise that ‘Puddin’ was uploaded to the already legendary Certified Jackin YouTube channel late last year.

Besides this, S. Jay has recently collaborated with fellow Leeds dwellers and bass house supporters Sweet Beat, for the garage inflected ‘Appreciator’, which you can hear now on Sweet Beat’s Soundcloud.

He’s also got a forthcoming release lined up on NuPanda Records, the deep house inspired ‘Movement EP’, samples of which you can hear on his own Soundcloud.
