A woman had to be cut free from her car after a crash near the University on Thursday morning.
The accident, which took place outside the Engineering buildings on Woodhouse lane, happened at around 7.35, causing havoc as commuters were stuck in huge tailbacks.
One man at the scene, who told Leeds Student he was related to one of the drivers, said that his son’s van had been travelling down Woodhouse Lane towards Headingley when a car turned down into Clarendon Road, which then caused the collision.
A number of police cars and ambulances were on the scene. It is understood that none of the passengers were seriously injured, and that no arrests were made.
One female was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.
