With less than 24 hours to go until Yorkshire Rowing’s King of Movember is crowned, Leeds University Union Boat Club’s Jonny Waters is in second place, just lagging behind Hull University Boat Club’s Romain le Cousturier.
Both rowers entered their tashes into the competition after grooming them throughout November to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, in the phenomenon that is “Movember”.
Now, Jonny Waters is after as many votes as he can gain in order to win this distinguished title and a copy of Hull University Boat Club’s 2013 Naked Calendar. Should le Cousturier win, the same favor shall be repaid him when LUUBC’s Calendar is released tomorrow.
Le Cousturier has received some controversy over his entry for having grown a beard as opposed to simply a moustache. Jonny Waters based the design for his moustache on that of Yorkshire Rowing Team Leader Rob Cree’s, who is lagging behind in the competition.
The Yorkshire Rowing Facebook page has described this epic contest as:
Romain le Cousturier vs Jonny Waters
Hull Uni BC vs Leeds Uni BC
France vs Great Britain.
