Jeans: the crucial item of clothing that will last not only seasons, but years, and what is a student wardrobe without your favourite pair of trusty jeans? Every week, the high street shops (and designer!) stock their clothes rails with anything from fluorescent pink patterned jeans to the traditional “I don’t know what to wear today” pair that every woman possesses. Therefore, how could we not love jeans label, Citizens of Humanity – jeans in every single size and style, great for whether you’re going to that new snazzy bar in town, or hitting Edward Boyle with the books.
If Kate Moss is a fan then so are we! A-listers from Emma Watson to Rihanna are all getting out their purses to splash out on a pair of these super-cool but super long-lasting jeans (I have lost count of the amount of times that Primark jeans have split at the crotch – not a great look!). And with a style to wear, come rain or shine, it’s hard to not pine over these beautiful jeans. But what makes these jeans so unique? The denim used in every pair is Premium denim, making it fit better with the ability to flatter any body shape – basically a must-have for all those body hang-up days! The designer, Jerome Dahan, carefully picks every fabric and designs the patterns in such a way so that every pair creates an illusion of a slimmer, smoother body figure. And for those of you who are vintage fans, Citizen of Humanity design all their jeans with a vintage feel and look to them, making them spot on trend. However, with every beautiful pair of jeans comes a terrifying price tag, so at an average price of £240 a pair, they’re more an investment rather than a Saturday splurge, but needless to say when the first big pay check comes through, these are going on my shopping list!
The must-have pairs are definitely these high-rise black waxed ones, as well as the light brown velvet ones – two styles that have undeniably dominated the AW ’12 catwalks. Pair with a fur gilet and a stylish pair of boots (cowboy, ankle, studded, the list is endless!) for a timeless, statement look that will last you until the next cool jeans brand makes an impact.
