Voyeur avoids jail despite spying on Chinese Olympians

A man caught red-handed spying on Chinese athletes while they were getting dressed has been spared jail.

Declan Crosbie, from Leeds, was found guilty of watching female Chinese Olympians in the changing room at The Edge, where they were preparing for the London 2012 Games.

Crosbie last month pleaded guilty to trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence.
The court heard how a woman saw him enter a cubicle in the changing rooms. When approached by staff, Crosbie answered in a female voice.

The 25 year old, who has previously been found guilty of sexual offences, has now been given a community order to undergo a rehabilitation programme and been banned from entering female changing rooms for five years.

A University spokesperson assures that security will be reviewed to ensure that those using The Edge are protected.
